Over the last lap
So I woke up like the fitness fanatic that I am. Having been learning about how to make good habits last, courtesy of ‘The Atomic Habits’, I put on my training clothes, and lastly, my shoes ✅ This morning it was a little different. I wasn’t too excited or motivated about it. I was contemplating it but I went on auto pilot and did what needed to be done. Went out for the regular run that I do every morning. There was nothing too exciting about it, well at least for the first lap. The magic happened when I was halfway through the last lap. Usually when I’m about to give up running and I know I still need to keep going, I look to the ground and keep going. Seeing the ground sliding backwards against my feet motivates me a little to keep going. Today though, while I gazed at earth for motivation, I heard a car horn going. I ignored and kept going. The horn blew again so I raised my head. And I was met by the a face of the driver, smiling from chick to chick. He had let go of the steer...
